Bachelor of pharmacy including public basic courses, basic theory courses of pharmacy, compulsory academic courses of pharmacy and elective courses of pharmacy as well as pharmacy practice. Students have to complete required credits and pass the examinations in order to receive a bachelor degree of pharmacy.
Pharmacy practice I-III will be conducted at the summer holidays in the 2nd year, 3rd year and 4th year or particular period approved by the university. Students may go to local or nearby regional hospital pharmacy, community pharmacy, and pharmaceutical enterprises or research institutions. The total pharmacy practice time is 360 hours which including early pharmacy practice, community pharmacy practice and thematic studies, covering pharmacy dispensing, clinical pharmacy and drug researches, etc. thematic studies will be carried out under the guidance of Professors thus students could be prepared for pharmaceutical industry and basic scientific researches.
Pharmacy Practice IV* will be conducted at the last year, totally 900 hours. According to outline requirements， This Practice include hospital pharmacy internships, clinical pharmacy internships, community pharmacy internships, and other internships related to the scope of pharmacy practice, while internship locations are not limited to pharmacies, but also include hospital clinical departments, community pharmacies, drug testing institutes, and other pharmacy practice place. Students can choose to practice with institutions by their own, or by the university’s arrangements. During the practice, institutions and universities will assess student internships.
1. Academic range: pharmacy, training the students to become pharmacists and pharmacy specialists with solid pharmaceutical basic theory and practical skills, know well about drugs production, quality control, drug dispensing, clinical rational use of drugs, pharmaceutical laws, drug trade and professional knowledge, technology and skills of new drug research and development.
2. Course duration:
The normal study duration of the program is 5 years. The maximum duration is 9 years. (Effective from the academic year 2018/2019)
*Suitable for students admitted after the academic year 2019/2020. Students admitted before the academic years 2019/2020 are required to take participate in clerkship for 900 hours at the 5th academic year. According to clerkship outline requirements， students have to practice in local or nearby regional community pharmacy, hospital or traditional Chinese medicine pharmacy under the guidance of pharmacists. Students have to focus on operational practice as well as clinical practice. After the clerkship students should have the knowledge and skills in many aspects, such as the drug dispensing, the rational use of drugs in clinic, pharmacy management and pharmaceutical preparations.
